Sachin Dev Burman also known as Burman da, is also credited as Kumar Sachindra Dev Barman or S. D. Burman was born on 1st October, 1906 and died on 31st October, 1975. He was one of the most prominent Bollywood music composers and an all-time great Bengali singer and composer. His son Rahul Dev Burman also achieved great achievement as a Bollywood music director in his own right. S D Burman was born in Comilla, then situated in the short-lived British Indian province of Eastern Bengal and Assam and now situated in Bangladesh. S D Burman composed music for about 100 movies including those of Bengali films. Agneepath (1990) had an uncredited song composed by him - Nazar lagi raja tore bangle par from Kalapani (1958). He also sang about 20 film songs all-encompassing of Bengali films for which he composed music though he may not have been the music director of the films. He also sang for one of the songs of Amar Prem (1971), a film whose music was composed by his son, Rahul Dev Burman.
